Would highly recommend Birch Villa. The cabins are great and well maintained and the boats you can rent are nice as well. The owner Tony is very accommodating and responds fast to emails and voicemails. This was a great week of fishing, but I would recommend it for anyone who wants to get away on the water.
We keep coming back to Cass Lake because of Birch Villa. Excellent service, clean rooms, and the amazing covered boat slips.
Our group has been coming here for an annual poker festival for fourteen years now. We truly enjoy the beautiful cabins and friendly staff. Most cabins have spectacular views of the lake. Especially during sunrise and enjoying the vibrant fall colors. Always stop in for a cold beer, pizza, and great conversations at the lodge. Have had eagles grace the treetops near our cabin. Lot of great memories here!
Nice docks and rental boats. The boats actually have 50hp motors, modern fish finders and platform floors. The ice cream in the lodge is a favorite and there’s a bar in there but honestly I’ve never used it. Beach is a good size and well kept with a long shallow area. The cabins are well kept and modern. The only area for improvement would be faster WiFi. Be aware that there are a lot of cabins stacked in two rows so there’s not a lot of green space to spread out in. The smaller cabins closer to the lake have more green space access. It’s not good or bad, depends on what you want in a resort.
Just finished a ice fishing/relaxation weekend, and could not have had a more enjoyable time. Clean, modern cabins, beautiful lodge, and the owners (Tony and Sabrina) are first class people, who made us feel welcome. Would definitely love to come up with my family too....fishing was good as well!..Oh, and covered boat slips for renters during open water. Great!
Great resort! We had 27 people in our group this year and we all had a great time. The cabins are clean and comfortable. The covered boat slips are a huge plus. Tony and Sabrina are great owners.
Beautifully situated modern housekeeping cabins with all the amenities and just a touch of the rustic for an authentic Northwoods feel. The resort has gracious and attentive hosts as well as a grand lodge with generous service hours. The grounds are always exceptionally well kept as is the dock area and the covered boat slips which are provided with the cabins. With clean air, clear water, the sounds of nature and often the smell of pine on the air -- the experience is usually nothing short of mystic. Our family has been coming up to Northern Minnesota for generations and this is always a high point of our year.
Love this place!! Been fishing on this lake since I was a kid but my uncle's resort is now closed. My dad found Tony's Birch Villa resort a few years ago and I was able to go with him this year. The really nice thing about the resort is the covered boat slips with outlets. Also being 3 minutes drive to the grocery store, next year I won't have to worry about bringing as much up from Illinois. I'll be there again in 2022!
